We’re sprouting with joy to announce the brand new release of the official trailer for the upcoming ‘Messy: Regenerative Agriculture‘ documentary.
Messy is a powerful and timely docu-series that showcases how transforming agricultural landscapes into biodiverse, regenerative ecosystems is key to sustainable and resilient farming. From revitalising soil health to nurturing pollinators and preserving native habitats, each episode delves into the real-world benefits of a “Messy” approach. This film explores the growing movement of regenerative agriculture and its potential to heal the planet, reverse climate change, and reshape our food systems.
Co-hosted by Kieran Richardt and Amy McDonald and featuring passionate advocates such as Associate Professor Guy Castley, Head Chef Dayan Hartill-Law, and President of the Granite Belt Sustainable Action Network and regen farmer Rick Humphries, Messy dives deep into how farming practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and ecological balance can restore ecosystems and empower communities.
The key theme of the documentary is regeneration, of land, of food systems, and of relationships between humans and nature. By spotlighting farmers, scientists, and activists who are leading the regenerative revolution, the film offers hopeful solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges.
With stunning cinematography and moving personal stories, Messy aims to inspire a groundswell of action. Its impact goal is clear: to educate audiences, influence agricultural policy, and motivate individuals and communities to support regenerative farming practices that build resilience, equity, and a healthier planet for future generations.
Healthy soil is the foundation of any thriving farm. This episode closely examines soil management techniques like manure and fertilisers, the role of carbon and nitrogen, and how till-free methods help preserve soil structure. Online Premiere and Live Screening Events – Coming May 2025!
The official online premiere is happening on the 22nd of May, with a range of community screenings throughout the month of May. A key celebration will take place at Ground Currumbin on the Gold Coast, where we’re hosting a family-friendly event with eco-activities, live music, a screening of the premiere, and a lively panel discussion with some of the inspiring people featured in the film.
We’re also encouraging schools, community groups, and local changemakers to host their own screenings to help spread these positive, practical stories far and wide.
