Why pollinators matter at Messines Farm?
Pollinators are an important part of growing many of the fruits we love. At Messines Farm, our apples, pears, apricots and plums benefit from insect pollination, which can influence fruit set, yield and quality.
Without effective pollination, fruit production can be significantly reduced. That's why supporting pollinators is an important part of our approach to regenerative agriculture.
But pollination is about more than the harvest. Pollinators are part of a much bigger ecological network, connecting flowering plants, wildlife and the landscapes we depend on.
By supporting pollinator habitat and managing our farm with biodiversity in mind, we're investing in the health and resilience of the wider landscape as well as our crops.
